Duane Paxson was born in York,
Pennsylvania
His Parents, originally from
Delaware and New York, moved
to Alabama in the  early sixties.
Duane, former  clarinetist, began
his career as a Sculptor  in the
early 80's and  received his MFA
from the University of Alabama
with a minor in Ceramics. His
studies included jewelry design in
Florida State University. The
musical influences in his work are
seen through these seemingly
organic musical instruments and
notes that seem to have sprung to
life gracefully and  joined eternally
as "nature's jewels".

Duane's work has received
International and National
attention, and has been reviewed
in major Sculpture and Art
publications.  He has won
numerous sculpture and drawing
awards.
Duane's home and studios are in
the midst of 10 acres, near
Athens,  Georgia.
